How is it known CU will play Yale at home? If that is true that is a deliberate mercy matchup by CIT. The other east coast teams - VMI and Towson - are just a wee bit more dangerous. Still, whichever Ivy wins will have to face one of those teams. . Coach Smith was pleased that we still had over 2,000 in the stands despite the fact that the only publicity was from our ADDept. Let's pack the place against Yale.oldlionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10242868168620796807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8498801197851744676.post-25486284860890780402014-03-23T11:12:26.132-07:002014-03-23T11:12:26.132-07:00That's a shame about EMU attendance. It is meaningful to CU mainly as a rep and confidence builder, and to provide an all-too-absent bright spot for CU athletics. It gives us a step up for next season.
At this point we have 21 wins. Who would ever have thought that possible in November? If we knock off Yale, we can seriously consider ourselves as the #2 Ivy team.
Great job, team.Big Dawghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12283147101492730153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8498801197851744676.post-79540717915996149172014-03-23T09:00:29.921-07:002014-03-23T09:00:29.921-07:00From the official number and the empty seats seen ...From the official number and the empty seats seen in the video, the place wasn't packed. Of course, the students are on break, so we can't tell if a good Lion team will necessarily result in serious support.

It's league-wide that this generation isn't hugely interested. And, an Eastern Mich. player was quoted in a paper, lamenting the lack of attendance for its home games throughout this past year. There were fewer than 400 for their earlier CIT home contest.RLBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04810386517710302377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8498801197851744676.post-84091101615769943582014-03-23T08:14:11.681-07:002014-03-23T08:14:11.681-07:00Nice, well-earned win against a poised, very well ...Nice, well-earned win against a poised, very well coached team. Sat behind the family of EMU's no. 3. He's a grad student going for his master's and using his final year of eligibility after graduating from somewhere else, and wants to teach and coach. Kid with genuine accomplishments from a nice family - we need more of these guys. (I doubt very much programs like UConn and Louisville, with their notoriously low graduation rates, will ever spawn someone similar.)I remain, very truly yours, Richard Szathmaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15958453732960356469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8498801197851744676.post-42163714601493348512014-03-23T04:23:53.268-07:002014-03-23T04:23:53.268-07:00And somehow we get the rubber game with Yale at ho...And somehow we get the rubber game with Yale at home. EMU is far higher up the RPI ranking than we are.
If Vegas indeed has some accurate insight, it simply points out the significance of home court advantage, as that is the only reason I can imagine for this. That said, this goes again to the logic of our initial decision to play the first game away.
We got away with that, at the very last second. But why did we give up home-court in the first place.
Let's hope tonite goes the way the gamblers predict.
