Be wary.

Hashi Sushi - seriously good sushi, but expensive. More of a lounge than a nightclub, by day it is quite a sedate and quiet place. Great sidewalk seating.

Carrot Top - Terrific local bakery, famous for its baked goods. Stop off for a snack on your way to the game.

Liffy II - Inwood used to be a heavily Irish area, and this dive is one of the last holdouts. Authentic outer-borough-old-guy-bar atmosphere. Put on your Hemingway and go for a drink after the game.

Enjoy!InwoodTigernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8498801197851744676.post-83101424297868199002012-09-12T13:35:45.734-07:002012-09-12T13:35:45.734-07:00InwoodTiger, thanks so much for the updates! Right across the street at 218th and Indian Road. Has an upscale/artistic bistro vibe but also a takeout counter with baked goods and coffee.

Park Terrace Deli - at 218th and Broadway - perfect NYC deli for all your convenience needs, including fresh sandwiches.

Twin Donut - at 218th and Broadway - not the Twin Donut of yore, this was nicely renovated a few years ago and is a perfect choice for soft drinks and snacks. Also has a sandwich counter.

That Latin Restaurant South of Twin Donut - used to be Sazones, now it's something with a roman numeral in the name. Not sure, but check out if feeling adventurous.

Associated Supermarket - at Broadway at 216th, less expensive than the deli for stocking up on snacks for the game.

Estufa - terrific place at 215th and Broadway, but closed last month.

Natura Bistro - new spot at Broadway and 211th.

Garden Cafe - one of the best local restaurants, part of the restaurant row on Broadway just north of 207th

Piper's Kilt - Inwood's great sports pub, part of the restaurant row on Broadway just north of 207th

Darling Cafe - new bakery spot, much beloved already, part of the restaurant row on Broadway just north of 207th

Yummy Thai - offshoot of the same Hell's Kitchen restaurant, very good, part of the restaurant row on Broadway just north of 207th

Inwood Local - probably the best beer selection in Inwood, popular despite only opening a year ago. I am glad to see that the situation at Columbia has changed ... congrats Coach M .... the other take-away I loved was a term he used ... he used the term LION NATION ..... great phrase .... we need to be using this to phrase often when we refer to the diehard Columbia alums who root for the Lions !!!RedTiger61https://www.blogger.com/profile/13152246005492374178noreply@blogger.com
