They were both winnable games, but following a script that's been a part of the Kyle Smith era, the team faltered down the stretch each time.
The basic goal of achieving an 8-win/winning Ivy record is certainly still in reach, but everything else seems like a stretch.
For anyone who thinks my goal of having Dianne Murphy removed makes these losses any easier to take, you're wrong.
I watched every minute of both games and pushed for the team all the way.
Does anyone else ever get the feeling that we alumni and fans care A LOT more about our teams winning than the Athletic Department... even when that department is under extreme scrutiny right now?

Turner Demuth looks interesting. His Whitefish Bay football coach, Jim Tietjen, had some great things to say about him.
From a local sports blog (http://m.mycommunitynow.com/sports/232610961.htm): "On the willpower front, Tietjen spoke highly of senior quarterback Turner DeMuth, who was a veteran running back and cornerback for Bay in prior years. With the graduation of all-everything quarterback Grant Menard, Bay needed some leadership at the position.
"We were Menard-less and needed a quarterback," said Tietjen, "and Turner, a two-year starter at other positions, took one for the team. He probably would have been a first-team all-conference defensive back for us and a real good running back, but he got the job done for us.
"We even put him back in the secondary and he got some huge picks in both the Wilmot and Waukesha West games. He stepped up for us — without him we would have been struggling."
Clay Caruso is a twitter dynamo.
^ Just read his feed, looks like he made his campus visit Jan 30 so that is a quick turnaround to sign. Sounds like he already knew what he wanted to do. If nothing else he will add personality to the team unless Pete suppresses that.
As for Turner Demuth, looks like a good candidate for a safety, possibly even CB. I get the impression they were looking for someone with closing speed. They really need to backfill and upgrade so who knows, maybe DB or possibly WR or special teams. Doesn't seem to have the size right now for RB.

The critical part of your statement is the word "winnable". This could not have been said of any football game this year.
While not an acceptable permanent condition, at least Basketball, via their level of play and their current record, provides us with a)hope for the rest of the season and b)prospects for a much better one next year. Unlike FB.
Princeton is 0-3 so I feel your pain!
