As disappointed as I am by the coaching staff and Columbia
administration, I still want to be as helpful as I can to CU football fans new
and old when it comes to practical matters.
To that end, I wanted to pass along some info on Columbia’s second road game of the season which is at Monmouth on October 11th.
Tickets for the game are $10 each for adults and they are on
sale now, info here.

This game will be Homecoming for Monmouth, so I suggest
buying the tickets now.
Monmouth’s Kessler Field can only hold about
4,600 fans, (some more seats can be added, but the all-time attendance record
there is just above 6,000), so ticket availability could be a real issue
especially if the Hawks have a good start to their season, (this game will be CU’s fourth but Monmouth’s sixth of 2014), it could be tight.
And Kessler is one of those stadiums with just one side, so home and away fans have to sit together.

Great, another bush league one stand for both teams grandstand, just like Fordham.
Monmouth has an enrollment of 1247...with homecoming and the locals i dont think this game is going to be sold out..i mean look at who Monmouth is playing!
We're not going to badmouth our program, right? Then let's maybe not badmouth others -- i.e. bush league, thugs, etc -- and certainly not until we actually accomplish something on the field. I hate the word "loser" but if I were to write a lit hum paper on that topic I'd start my research here.

"One-sided stands are for high school athletics" -- doesn't seem to be hurting Fordham.
The one sided stand is great for Fordham but makes for a rotten experience for the visiting team, which sets up in outer space on the other side of the field without having its fans sitting behind the bench.

If anyone's interested, the main admin building at Monmouth was used as Daddy Warbucks' palatial mansion in the first movie version of "Annie." Other than that, however, no, it's not a very impressive campus. My suggestion is to combine game day with a trip to either the Long Branch or Asbury beaches.
I was told that Sports Illustrated Kids did a piece on our offensive lineman Pace and his experiences as a very young Ivy League student and football player. Has anybody read it? I have not been able to find it online and I don't subscribe. Curious as to his opinions about the program. I hear he has a high GPA.

If Fordham had Columbia's stadium they would be an attraction. As it is they are a quality FCS playoff contender. That hasn't always been the case so kudos to them for getting the program on track.
Richard: Maybe Daddy Warbucks can adopt our offensive line and give them a real meal!
i am all for not bashing the kids, but why would anybody have an article about Pace unless they were showing film on ways to get your QB killed or broken.
I followed your suggested link, Jake, and got a "We are unable to process your order" sort of message. But I then went to Monmouthhawks.com, the athletics site, followed the site to the athletic tickets page and was able to order tix. Are you sure you had the right link? Monmouth has a very busy slate of rock, pop and classical concerts, and that seems to be where your link led.
I think they fixed it. At first, you had to go to the theater/concerts page and find it there.
