Yale's star running back, and arguably the Bulldogs' best player, Alan Lamar is out for the season.
Yale still has talent at the RB position, including senior Deshawn Salter who had a strong sophomore season but was hurt much of last season. They also have the enigmatic Andrew Grinde, who was expected to make a big impact last season as a freshman, but decided to take the year off just before training camp.
The Lamar injury, joined with the injury to Princeton star John Lovett, and the loss of Penn's heir apparent starting QB and top DB to transfer decisions are just some of the reasons why this season continues to look like it will be the most wide open Ivy football race in some time.

Yale also has an outstanding freshman rb, Zane Dudek. If the O-line is good their run game should still be strong, especially if Grinde shows up.

Well, according to Massey and Computer ratings.com, we are totally in the toilet, ranking far behind even Wagner. In fact, only one of these polls has us ahead of anyone we play, except for Cornell in Massey. And there, we are only ahead by one position.
This does not bode well.
I only hope that Jake's prognostications are more on the mark than these polls.
The Wagner game will be a good indicator. Win, and the aforementioned polls are out the window. Lose, and we may have a long season ahead.
Ever the optimist, I see our offense of the last four games of 2016 starting the year at this level and improving. Defense will struggle at first giving up some big plays because of new personnel but tighten during the year. 5-5 season.
