^-second team expanded due to ties in the voting
I'm happy with just about all of the results above, with the exception of Bewley Wales being put on the 2nd Team... but that is still a great honor.
I'm really happy QB Anders Hill made the 2nd Team as opposed to Honorable Mention. And I can now confirm he is getting interest from NFL scouting agents.

And the future does indeed seem bright. Because two of the senior All Ivy awardees are planning to return for 5th years, (I cannot report which two as of now, but it's not QB Hill or DB Cameron Roane), Columbia can expect to have six returning All Ivy players on the roster to start next season, which is probably a record for us.
The most important "All Ivy" returnee is of course 2017 Ivy League Coach of the Year Al Bagnoli. We expected him to get this award, but it's still a big deal.

Jake, the Columbia athletics web site says Paukune and Baty are eligible to play as fifth years, and we already knew Flores is eligible. Hill and Roane will be very hard to replace, but if the 3 seniors come back we could enter next year with 3/4ths of the DBs returning, all the starting LBs, four or five experienced DLs, four starting OLs and six WRs, plus an experienced RB, K and terrific returner. We'll need a QB, but this is a pretty good place to be.
I realized reading the abov that I have absolutely no ideawho played center for the Lions or served a the long snapper o punts. But whoever they were, they proved exceptionally sure-handed. There weren't too many botched plays involving hiking. That shiuld be worth ome notice here.

There is no question in my mind that you deserve a great deal of credit for the success of today's Lions, and for keeping the Columbia FB family together.
You can never take awards season too seriously, but I was disappointed not to see safety Ryan Gilbert anywhere. Lions D gave up the 2nd fewest points in the league, trailing only Yale. Gilbert led the team in tackles and was 3rd in the league in tackles. How can that not warrant at least an honorable mention? In a year where the Lions' secondary seemed to be a question mark for many at the beginning of the season, I thought the Lions had one of the best secondaries in the league, if not the best. Of course, no one is going to be more biased than I am on that subject.
Agree! Gilbert had a great year.
Congratulations to the nominees on a well-done job.
I am not quite as sanguine regarding next year's talent parity. If one looks closely, it is apparent that with the exception of Brown (duhh) we have significantly less 1st, 2nd and HM personnel returning than any other team.
This, added to the absence of a strong QB and running attack, does not bode well. I believe 6-4 will be a decent accomplishment next year, barring a change. Bags is great, but he isn't Jesus.
I agree about Sean Gilbert, he definitely should have been up there, clearly an oversight. But he'll be a returning senior and 1st team all-Ivy for sure. As for our prospects next year, if one or two of the frosh rbs steps up, we'll be fine. Anyone know why Broderick Taylor was out all season?
I agree with alawicius about our running backs. After Cam Molina graduated, Watson stepped up. This year Schroer did the same. It seems like there's a lot of talent among the frosh and sophs so I'm hoping. Earlier in the season, someone mentioned that Taylor was injured and would not play this year. Hopefully, he'll be playing next year.
I have no idea about Hill's replacement. Except for Bean, no one really played. Again, a lot of QB talent is on the roster, including a couple of QB recruits this year, It would be a shame, with our receiving group, if we can't come up with a strong armed QB.
Happy Thanksgiving to all
Jake, who do you think will play QB for us next year? And is it too soon to start projecting which playrs we can expect to make the biggest improvement?
Wouldnt be surprised to see a platoon system again initially, with a running QB like Bean, alternating with a passing QB (Suitt, Dame etc.) Then go full time with whoever earns the start through development.
Hill will certainly be missed. It is regretful that no other QB, save Bean in short yardage situations, got any game experience...
Dillon is supposed to be an excellent classic drop back passer.
