WInter Updates

I know it's been a while since my last update, but working three jobs will do a number on your time.

Rest assured I have been following all the developments with Columbia and acquiring some good information along the way.

For the next several weeks, I'm going to try to post some bullet-point updates with a little analysis thrown in.

Here are the top 4 stories I want to briefly touch on:

1) WR Josh Wainwright WILL be rejoining the team for a 5th year (league-permitting). It had been thought he was going to grad transfer to SMU, but apparently he changed his mind. This is obviously the best news of the off season so far.

2) OL Joseph Scowden is also planning to return for a 5th year. This is super great news too as the O-line needs to regroup after losing key leaders like Parker Coogan to graduation.

3) CB/WR Mason Tomlin, the son of Pittsburgh Steeler Head Coach Mike Tomlin, committed to Columbia Football in December. He's a talented player who would be a great get in any case, but the buzz connected to Tomlin's dad is exciting and should be great for further recruiting. I'll post a full list and updates on other commits in the coming weeks.

4) Columbia and Brown will play this fall's game at Yankee Stadium. It will be Columbia's first football game at the Stadium since the 1930s and the Sid Luckman era. The official announcement has not been made, and the official schedule still says the game is in Providence. But apparently this is happening.

Great to see you're back and with good news regarding the program !
I'm already searching for my Sid Luckman throwback jersey for the Brown game at the Stadium this fall.

Earning an Ivy League Championship while at Yankee Stadium... BELIEVE!!! We can add a banner to the stadium!

Fantastic news about Wainwright. And Scowden. Hopefully our two LBs who went down will also be back, along with Valentas. Mozes Mooney was a big loss, but if we can pick up one more WR we will be in good shape there.

Was worried about you Jake. Thought maybe this season might have been your breaking point!

A safety, Valenzuela, from Oaks Christian (Los Angeles area) has committed to Columbia; Matt Johnson, from the same school played basketball for the Lions a few years ago.
