The unofficial fan blog of Columbia University football. (My previous CU Lions blog ran from 2005-2011 at http://roarlions.blogspot.com/)
Columbia's Ivy League opener vs. Princeton will be on national TV on ESPNU on Friday night September 29 at 7:00pm ET.
The Lions last played under the lights at Princeton in 2015, and lost in a super close matchup in a monsoon at Princeton Stadium.
Why did we agree to open on the road against Lafayette as opposed to hosting Lafayette?
adversity builds character.....if we can't beat Lafayette on the road, it's probably gonna be a long season
Because we will open with Lafayette at home in 2024 (with Georgetown on the road that year). Gives a more balanced schedule
Is the Princeton game that's scheduled for 7 pm on Friday or Saturday. The football team's website says the latter.
Friday is correct
I may be in the minority but Ivy football is made for Saturday afternoons.
I believe that the Ivy League has a deal with ESPN for a Friday night game which is nationally distributed.
