This pic snapped this weekend, would indicate that my sources have been correct with their reports to me that former Harvard star WR Seitu Smith has been hired to be Columbia's new Offensive Coordinator and QB coach.
Since graduating in 2016, Smith has coached at Dartmouth, Brown, Yale, and with the Cleveland Browns. Smith's most recent work has been with the Elis, where he's worked as the assistant head coach and running backs coach.
He is considered a serious up-and-comer in the coaching world, and rounds out what is definitely the youngest coaching staff in Ivy football history.

Inexperienced. BTW, he never coached at Harvard, he only played there.
He is no longer listed on the Yale football page of their sports website.
Who cares, if the offense can put points on the board maybe we can win some games. It should work the first year because the other ivy defenses will be guessing the first year. Now the second year?
Curious. What experience does he have coaching and more importantly developing quarterbacks? He was a WR and his last coaching position was RB, has he coached quarterbacks before?
Correct about not coaching at Harvard. I meant Brown. Fixed it above.

Jake although he was the QB coach at Brown, he was there during the 2020 season which was COVID cancelled, so it was never really coaching in a game played season.
Sounds like an interesting choice. Poppe knows what he is doing.
Young single assistant coaches are more likely to move to an expansive area like NYC than a veteran coach with a family.
“Sounds like an interesting choice. Poppe knows what he is doing.” - we hope!
Yes
We should be all in!
Other than DC Stovall are there any more assistants from last season being retained?
Kukesh the db coach.
Augie Hoffmann TE coach is a holdover as well.
I like the vibe, i.e. the future is now in what seems to be a developing, challenging, healthy competition among the new coaches to whom players can actually relate. Watch what I do with my position group! Match that! Refreshing.
Yeah but what about the Bubble Screen
You're perversely obsessed with Fabish.
Give the new coach a break. The key to the season will be which QB he can get in the transfer portal. Drew Pyne just left ASU to go back to ND to finish his degree in the spring. He has one more year of football left. I think CU alumni should ban together and propose some NIL deal and bring Drew to CU. His family has an Ivy League heritage. This is the kid we need, even for one year.
I hope this is a joke.
Pyne injured a lot. He’s also 23 already.
Why don't you organize the NIL idea?
He's probably not getting any QB in the portal. The key to Columbia football and most sports in the league is the recruit and DEVELOP players.
His ASU credits might be worthless too
Henry Belin IV and his younger brother Rich, have to be Columbia's top recruiting targets.

No they don't and aren't.
What is the assessment of the current QBs on the roster? And do we have any QB recruits who have committed?
Very good question ⁉️
Do you see any QBs on Jake's list of commits?
Jake's list shows less than half of the incoming class. There will be one or more QBs recruited. Honestly some these posters...lol
Hoffman back to St Joe’s. Poppe might regret hiring a sycophant over a former nfl player/B10 oline coach. Hope it all works out
Do the research yourself.
Apologies, sycophant is unfair. But it does seem one resume has clear advantages over the other. Of course, resumes are not everything. Lot of potential among Oline. I will put my questions aside and root for the best
So who is the new OLine coach?
"So who is the new OLine coach?" -- Try Google, it's easy, even for you...lol

Nothing there about O-line coach.
Come on, man. There was a press release and the info is all over the website. Make an effort.
"Nothing there about O-line coach." - Did you fail reading in elementary school...again? lol
Gregory Skjold Offensive Line Coach
Correct.
Why is it that routine questions which sometimes come from those of us who do not assiduously follow all of the press releases have to be met with vitriol and insults? As the uninformed person who didn’t know about the new OL coach, I wonder if it was strictly speaking necessary to ask if I failed reading in elementary school, or if I should have done my own research, or similar unenlightened comments. So the next time that one of us posts an inquiry, instead of a smarmy response, how about just ignoring it if you are too busy to provide an answer. Finally, this blog used to be a nice way to obtain information about the program that all or at least most of us care about. Now we have a few participants who think they are being clever by tossing around insults. Pe3rhaps they might try anger management exercises.

Probably because you want to be spoon fed information, when the link to the coaches was provided earlier...lol. Perhaps you might try googling questions yourself!

Agreed. Until recently, this Blog was not a place for trolling and flaming. It was a forum for those who cared about -- and who took care of -- CU football, even during times when CU administration didn't.

Agreed!
Agree with Leonlion.
“Please keep your comments respectful!”
Oh, and also a unmoderated place to anonymously assassinate the character of good people who dont call plays you like, dont rotate all qb’s on the roster or have sonny-boy on scout team. Yeah this is a real crown jewel in the internet discussion forum universe
Disgree with Leonlion.
It doesn't take much effort to at least READ the blog before posting silly questions that are already answered, nor does require much effort in searching the ACTUAL Columbia Lions football website yourself. Some of the laziest posters I've ever seen.
How about common courtesy? A simple question or two which doesn’t take much effort for somebody who knows the answer either to ignore the request or to provide the answer. It’s hard to believe that this merits a diatribe or an insult.
How about stop whining and do your own research.
You were provided the link after your first post. You need to stop being so lazy and become more ambitious. You spent all that time writing a follow up post that was too long and poorly written. You could have found the info instead.
Interesting that several individuals on the recently released 2024 Columbia Baseball Roster also played quarterback in high school and at least two posted some big numbers. Columbia Baseball seems poised to compete again for the Ivy League Title.
How about beating U Miami on Miami, not that long ago!
