1) Dartmouth
The Big Green's win over Penn was a bit more impressive than the 20-17 final score indicates.
2) Columbia
With a healthy Chase Goodwin at QB, the Lions are a top team
3) Penn
The Quakers held their own for the most part in a tough road game against the best team in the league. They're not done yet.
4) Harvard
The Crimson only have a flukely loss at Brown to be ashamed of. Not bad.
5) Brown
This is a team with defensive problems.
6) Cornell
The loss to Albany adds to the narrative that the Big Red just have Yale's number, but no one else's.
7) Yale
If you can have a bad win, Yale had it against CCSU Saturday. They don't seem to have the tools to beat Dartmouth this weekend.
8) Princeton
The Tigers have a tentative offense and some injuries really harming the defense.

My only quibble is that Penn should be ahead of Columbia as we had a bad loss to Gtown (albeit with our backup qb).
First time ever that Harvard, Princeton and Yale start 0-1?
Yes, HYP 0-1 first time ever is apparently correct as I posted following our victory over Princeton. Re: Yale -- unlike our Lions vs. Georgetown, Yale came away with the W over CCSU. Just like Dartmouth came away with the W against a decent Merrimack team. I can't see dropping Yale to #7. You never know with Brown, but after losing to Bryant, I don't see them turning it around against URI (even though I recall they have played the Rams tough). Anyway, that's what we're here for because we follow with enthusiasm and enjoy these exchanges. Should be a fun weekend.
Princeton was gassed in the second half. Depth is a big
question BUT last in the Ivies with Surace at the helm? I'll say 5-5
Very strange to see Yale and Princeton at the bottom. However, it's hard to argue that Jake's being unreasonable here...
I’m not convinced Yale isn’t actually top three. Shaky start, but they always seem to get better as the season goes along. I think they and Princeton are now a bit underrated, and Harvard slightly overrated. I’m also starting to think we could share the Ivy title. The game in Philly will tell us a lot. Also, I’m waiting for Dartmouth to stumble. I think the Elis smack the Big Green this weekend.
I think this is a very fair assessment. I also pick Yale to top Dartmouth. Yes, our game in Philadelphia will be key and that’s why I hesitated to give a higher power ranking for Columbia this week. Not sure that Harvard is slightly overrated given the strong victory over New Hampshire.
The good news for Lion fans is that wide receiver Bryson Canty is listed as a starter on the two-deep for Saturday's game against Wagner.
But Townsend is out for the Lions—any update on his injury?
Done for the season, unfortunately. A big loss! https://www.columbiaspectator.com/sports/2024/10/09/football-sets-its-sights-on-wagner-for-final-nonconference-game-of-the-season/
Huge loss. Stud player and true leader on and off the field.
