interested in opinions...

our running game while adequate has not been a dominant feature of our offense. last year it was good enough and our passing attack did the rest

Does the solution lie more in the quality of our running backs or the quality of the offensive line play? realise that it's all an intertwined system, but what are people's views on how to turn our running game into a stronger weapon?

Chen-
A great question ! A little bit like the chicken or the egg thing.
A great running back (like Yale's Tyler Varga for e.g.)can make a mediocre line
better by hitting the gaps as they appear or waiting until new holes
are created. He outran and ran over tacklers. A great line gets the push necessary to have the back
making contact with forward momentum so that he usually falls forward for that extra yard or two- the difference between fourth and one or moving the sticks.
Over all I'd value the line over the back since gems like Varga are rare in our league, and if the Yale line sucked , he wouldn't have played in the NFL.
I felt that our running game excelled once we started to run the ball outside of the tackles more and became less predictable. There were times however when you could basically predict it was going up the gut (usually for a minimal gain). A good running quarterback will also open up things as he can option keep to get the defense guessing.
How's our running game going to be this year ?

Good post DOC ... I remember some of the TV commentators last season critiquing quality of Oline play in general across all of football....

Thinking back to when Jeff Adams was in there, how he opened up holes...need a couple more like him I think

Surely has to he on Bagnolis mind
