Got an email today, Tuesday, 3/27/18, about Columbia Football's first practice in full pads. Also, the email had a complete listing of players on the team. One is able, in almost all cases, to click on any player's name to see his playing history with the Lions, as well as a complete bio. I look forward to clicking on every player's name.
As I looked down the list, a name caught my attention. The player was Jason Vravick, a senior from Illinois. My memory was that Jason was an Illinois all-state selection his senior year in high school. When I clicked on his name, his bio proved my memory to be right.
The most striking thing I found out was that Jason has played virtually no football for Columbia during his three years on the team, even though he had been chosen 1st Team Illinois All-State coming out of high school. What an incongruity! And yet he's still on the team heading into his last season at Columbia.
Can anyone shed some light on this inexplicable situation?
Just to tickle our minds, I will make pairs of players, present and past, and people weigh in......who was better (rules are you cannot say it depends followed by endless analysis and context....just make your pick and give your reason )
1. QB: Hill or Brackett?
2. WR: Wainwright or Knowlin?
3. TE: Kennedy or Less?
