Dartmouth Head Coach Buddy Teevens. one of our classiest rivals in the Ivies, has suffered reportedly "serious" injuries after being hit by a car while cycling in Florida.
I know all of Columbia's fans, players, and coaches are wishing Buddy a total and speedy recovery.

Without question, one of the classiest individuals coaching any sport today. He actually attended the news conference announcing his dismissal as the Stamford coach. A bit of irony here, the reports say he was not wearing a helmet. Remember, he was one of the first coaches to advocate for less contact during practices, in an effort to enhance player safety. We can only hope that he will be afforded a complete and speedy recovery. Apparently, the accident took place in Florida.
This should serve as a reminder to all of what is truly important in our lives.
He has made a huge contribution to football by reducing contact in practice while maintaining a winning program. It's a great game but to survive coaches have to reduce the injuries. Buddy led the way in that regard. A class act, I wish him a quick and full recovery.
