Here's another part of the ad, it seems to address issues that alums have been complaining about:
"The ideal candidate will possess a high level of competency in football skill instruction, motivation and conduct of practice sessions under the direction of the Head Football Coach. The ideal candidate will understand the role of intercollegiate athletics in a highly competitive academic environment; strong recruiting, teaching and coaching skills; an inherent ability to build and sustain positive relationships with athletic alumni and student-athletes; proven abilities in fan, friend and fund-raising. Dedication to the mission of the University and commitment to gender equity and diversity are essential. A Bachelor’s degree is required."
why are we advertising a job? by that, i mean, any coach has a list of colleagues with grad assistants and the like who they would call. that we are advertising, outside of equal opportunity requirements, is really not good.
RE Spring Game: Not sure if Pete will allow family/alum/fans to attend the game? Remember, he is very secretive. I don‘t disagree with Pete here. I fully understand how other coaches may steal his winning formula for success. Other teams may want to find out how he secured a record setting season AND going 0-10??? I know Harvard is anxious to see if another member of their band can Letter this year.

Well done! You have no idea how much I needed a laugh this morning :-D
Do not ever neglect the potential power of this site. If you don't think our words are read by many people, you are wrong.
This latest is a direct response to the comments raised and maintained here. There may not be direct rejoinders, but these ads speak wonders.
And PS, if new coaches teaching basic skills and also establishing comm with the constituency are found, along with some decent recruits, who knows what will ensue. Who cares about the coach, as long as he produces?

I know this is far from the subject, but what kind of crowd is it during the spring game if any?

Actually, I think we have to post all jobs like this for legal reasons.
I think it is a requirement, regardless if they already have a guy lined up.

I believe the coach wanted ad states that there are "multiple openings."
Should be interesting.
