(While this is week 1 for the Ivy teams, I have been picking the games played by Columbia's out of conference opponents. My record so far this year is 2-2 straight up and 2-2 against the spread)
Holy Cross +2 1/2 at Yale
I think Yale is very, very good. But I think Holy Cross is better and will win this game.
Cornell -3 at Lehigh
The Big Red often play their best game in week 1. I think Cornell wins here.
St. Thomas + 17 1/2 at Harvard
The Crimson will win, but not quite cover this spread.
Colgate +9 1/2 vs. Penn
I think Penn will win this game, but the Quakers usually start seasons a bit slow and that means they will have trouble covering the spread.
Princeton -24 at San Diego
The Tigers usually start very strong, and San Diego is a very weak team.
Brown +6 at Bryant
I like the underdog Bears to actually win this game.
New Hampshire -6 1/2 vs. Dartmouth
UNH is a powerhouse, but I think they will just barely cover this spread.
Stonehill +9 1/2 at Georgetown
The Hoyas will win, but their recent streak of dominating opponents will end here.
Davidson -9 at Marist
I've lost any notions that Marist has improved over last year.

Did you take the NE weather forecasts into account?
Not really. It's hard to gauge exactly how strong the storms we be at game times.
What's the Columbia spread? Anyway to bet it? I would guess Columbia is favored by 10, but we should win by 2 TDs+
Columbia is favored by 4. I think the only way to bet Ivy games is to show up at the sports books in person.
We need to jump out early and try to torch them with our dynamic WRs. We can rotate waves of WRs and tire out their DBs.
I like that approach -- all six guys on our two deep are dynamic WRs who can get you six points from anywhere on the field. If Lafayette doubles up on the receivers, then our running backs can go outside.
Joey Giorgi and Malcolm Terry are both very talented running backs. Giorgi does everything well and Terry seems ready to have a breakout year.
We have another senior RB who should see some action as well; he played ahead of Terry last year, although I also like Terry.
What we lack is a bit power back who can move the pile. Too bad we lost the big guy who two years ago helped win the Dartmouth game by carrying their LB into the end zone.
Meant big as in 230 pounds , not bit. apologies.
Agreed--seems like we ought to move back to running back a couple of guys who played running back in high school. We lack the big running back you talked about and there is very little depth at the running back position.
