At 6'3" 160 he'll need to go on a weight program.

Agree about the weight program, but if you take a look at his highlight film on line, he is already a very strong tackler and the fastest guy on the field. Let's get some more guys from the Great State of Georgia!

With that speed and a year in the weight room, he's a lock for 1st team All Ivy at some point.

"With that speed and a year in the weight room, he's a lock for 1st team All Ivy at some point."

I'd say NFL bound.

We have a cynic on this board.

Anonymous said...

I heard he has just declared himself eligible for 2024 nfl draft

Anonymous said...

You say cynic. I would say a-hole know-it-all who responds with nastiness and sarcasm to far too many of the comments here.

Good analysis here. Hit the weights. Got it.

I would like to think that this blog is for people who actually support Columbia football. While it is Jake’s prerogative, I would not be upset were Jake to impose an embargo on “contributors” who attack what Jon Poppe and his staff are trying to accomplish.

Ridiculous suggestion, commie.

Anonymous is a moron. That's all you really need to know about this board.

I will take great satisfaction in watching Poppe succeed despite the naysayers. The “it’s nearly impossible to win at Columbia” Fabish apologists won’t be able to deal.

I assume there is only one possibly "mean-spirited" individual on this board, but due to the nature of this being an almost entirely anonymous blog, a sole person is certainly in a position to say things publicly on this board in a manner that might prove harmful to the best interests of the Columbia Football Team. Assuming that one person's intentions are not "mean-spirited," may I urge him to simply tone down his criticism so that persons reading comments on this blog, including possible recruits and their parents do not form the wrong impression about Columbia Football and its many loyal fans.

No one is doing anything other than poking fun at some of the sillier comments posted here.

Exactly!!!!

This hapless banter is all part of the Columbia football tradition, but that's what makes it so interesting!

Recruits and competitor schools read this blog; my guess is that the mean spirited comments come from a Penn fan still smarting from getting swept this weekend.

"Recruits and competitor schools read this blog"?

No they don't lol

There was a DE in Georgia (Rowe?) they had for an official visit but haven't offered him. I follow all of the prospects on Twitter or at least the ones who tag Poppe. Watched his film. Kid's a baller.

I found him. Twitter @HarrisonRowe19 6'3 Defensive End. I see offers NESCAC offers and a visit recently from Cornell.

Rowe looks pretty good in his highlights. Hope Poppe makes GA, FL and NC more of a focus moving forward

Anonymous said...

Agreed. I suspect he'll get an offer soon. Florida and Georgia kids are usually well coached and tough.

Most Young Men are well coached, regardless of where they are from.

That's why we're going to be 10 and 0, baby! Ivy League Champs!

Anonymous said...

Damn right. We have the players to do it.

Anonymous said...

Wasn't trying to take away from any other region. I just know the successful Ivy's emphasize drawing players from the South that have the academic acumen.

Class of '28 has a chance to go 40-0 and win 4 straight IL titles. We have the staff and studs to do it!

Fabish wasn’t successful. Get over it. I know you have a hard time understanding reasonable expectations of success with Coach Poppe so you resort to this “humor(?)” about going 10-0, 40-0, etc. But it’s very juvenile and reflects poorly on you.

Anonymous said...

Agree with the last comment; the humor escapes me; lay off of Fabish, a good man who had a few bad breaks; wish Poppe (the pride of Upper Saddle River) all the best.

Another Engles choke job in Cambridge. Definitely our worst BB coach ever.

Fire Engles.
