BREAKING: Scott Bolts for Yale

Poachers!

It turns out the committed-to-Columbia QB Yale was after wasn't Hank Trumbull as I surmised last month but it was Logan Scott.

And the Elis have "unhooked" him.

This is a tough one because Scott sure seemed like a great all-around athlete who could have helped Columbia at QB or WR.

Teams lose commits all the time in the Ivies, but it can get nasty when you lose one to ANOTHER Ivy. This one may engender some bad blood for a few years... as if the Columbia-Yale atmosphere wasn't nasty enough.

Scott was our first quarterback commitment, but the three guys who commited to Columbia after him, are much better football players. Reno is not making friends among the Ivy League coaches. I would assume that Murphy and Mangurian both hate the guy and the other five coaches are watching their backs. That's a dangerous position for any coach to be in and I suspect that Yale will have a new head football coach within a Yale.

A number of outstanding football players who were offered by Columbia have still not publicly committed to any college, so there is a very good chance the Lions will end up with still more top prospects in this year's incoming class. If I had to guess, I would say that at least one of those prospects is coming from Arizona or Texas.

Coach says 34 new players. That means 3 or 4 are not yet public. With an apparent dirtbag like Reno I would keep as much information about our recruits confidential as possible.
