Goodwin Out for the Season

Lions fans are waking up to a cruel reality, (we're used to it), as standout first-year starting QB Chase Goodwin is out for the season with the knee he injured at the end of the 1st half of the Homecoming loss to Dartmouth.

While backup QB Cole Freeman has shown much more talent than the typical number 2, this will make the rest of the season much more of a challenge for a Lions team that has already suffered tough season-ending injuries to a number of other players including DE Justin Townsend and RT Ryan Carr.

But we did see a good bit of fight in this team last Saturday, so it will be interesting to see how this crew performs down the stretch.

Next man up! Who will be Cole's back-up? Dartmouth has their 3rd string guy at QB (from 1st game depth chart).

Rumor was that AJ Simpkins was now #2. What happened to Caleb Sanchez? Thanks Jake for getting the info on Goodwin.

Gentleman, ladies, and everyone else who frequents this board, what are our predictions for Friday night? I’ll say 34-20 Columbia.

It will be a lot closer than that. Lions will have their hands full. Hope they start using those TEs to greater effect.
Roar, Lions, roar!

Home Cooking = 6-4 ultimately or 7-3

Yale 7
Columbia 45

Yes, that looks realistic. Defeat the Bears and the Big Red and fall short against the Bulldogs and the Crimson. Tomorrow night, unfortunately, it is Yale 28 and the Lions 16.

I think you guys are underestimating Poppe. Plus Smith knows their offense. Actually think it’s a great spot for us, and no one will be giving us a chance with Goodwin out. We’ve got something to prove, and prove it we will. Columbia by two touchdowns.

I prefer your logic, and your pick to mine just above!

Yale 42 Columbia 7

I hope I'm wrong but I see a repeat Friday nite disaster against Yale.

The Jets won tonite with black uniforms and green trim. Maybe the Lions also play better when suppressing the light blue.

Freeman needs to RELAX in the pocket and read his progressions. That means wait and read, not tuck and run. Freeman needs to establish the short passing game and then expand the offense. I am sure that Poppe and staff will simplify their game plan for Freeman.

very succinctly stated

Freeman will be just fine tonight. Let’s go Columbia. Columbia 24 - Yale 14

Let's Go Lions! Locked and Loaded!

That’s all well and good, provided that Creeman has the time to read the progressions . Seems like Yale’s Defense has caught up to its offense.

I meant Freeman, my apologies.

Lots of scoring by both teams tonight. My prediction: Columbia 42 Yale 28.

Expect Yale to be penalized at least three times tonight for defensive holding on Columbia's receivers.

What adjustments will be or have been made to slow down the Yale run game? We have to seal the edge!!!

Lions are now facing the big boys with Dartmouth, Yale and Harvard. First 5 games the competition has as not nearly as strong

Amen to staying in the pocket. No happy feet tonight

Creeman just fumbled
