6-2 215 lbs. Gianmarco Rea from Detroit Country Day School truly looks like he's just a good a prospect at FB as he is at LB, even though he stood out as Detroit Country Day's defensive leader.
Rea would be the fourth documented Detroit Country Day grad to play for the Lions according to my all-time "Lion Feeder" data base.

"If you're looking for someone who can take care of the dirty work, Rea does just that on both sides of the ball for the Yellowjackets. One of the best fullbacks in the area when it comes to busting open holes for Wilson, while also proving to be one of the most consistent producers on the defensive side of the ball. What he does might not be pretty, but it gets the job done on both sides for Country Day."

Why can't our MBB team perform up to expectations? Last year we lost six ivy games by six points or less. This year we have lost two by four and two points, following the same dismal pattern of falling behind due to crummy shooting, mounting a furious comeback, and then falling short.
I have seen a lot of games and I have to say that "they stink!"
Now I hope they make me a liar tonight at 6 PM on NBC.

Th Joc/Doc: no, they don't stink, but they are one front court player away from being a consistent winner. Right now they are snake bit. They cannot keep the momentum. Last night was our game to steal, and we were one stop from doing so.

Doc/Joc: It's called learning how to win. It always takes somebody who can make a play. When Marcellus Wiley played for us, he knew how to do it.
It's so funny to hear alumni say "find a way to win". The reality with our alumni base is that most of us have never won. Let's not fall into the trap of "back when we played, we were so good, or so tough"... Chances are that we weren't. If we were lucky to play with Marcelus, we should enjoy the ride because he was a deodorant player... Everyone stinks, but he makes us smell good. If you didn't make it to the NFL or NBA... chances are, you weren't as good of player as the athletes that are competing now. Be a good fan and cheer for when they win, and encourage them when they lose. As fans, we cannot change the outcome of the games, so why bring us down further?
Because many of us are so fed up with CU's attitude toward athletics.
I am 48 years old and I have not witnessed one Ivy football or basketball championship.
How is it possible for us to be the only Ivy school that has not won a title in either of the two main sports in 40 years?

Not true, they do care, and if you've been following developments you would see that.
Sadly, Kyle Smith is starting to look more and more like Norries Wilson. A good guy who is liked by his players but who doesn't win. They have some talent but they don't get results. And if you're paying attention, Smith has also lost too many players. Dyami Starks averages 17 ppg for Bryant, a 15-6 team playing an Ivy-type schedule. Agho opted not to take a fifth year. And where is Lyles? These would be three of the top five players on this year's team and none are playing.
To pour it on, Barber and Cisco graduate and the cupboard is not exactly stocked with Smith-recruited talent. If we post a losing Ivy record this year, we'll likely be picked for 7th or 8th next year. Very discouraging performance.
I've been "following developments" since 1983. Please explain to me why someone my age would not be anything but frustrated and skeptical, and I/we will remain that way until we find a way to win a championship in one of the two definitive Ivy sports.
Until then, I get me hopes up each year only to see them fizzle in short time...
This basketball season, particularly after watching them in person beat Villanova, is a huge disappointment....!!!

No doubt the AD, coaches are absitively, posilutely responsible for the Ivies which beat the MBB Lions by missing 4 (BR) and 3 (Penn) FTs each of 29, and 4 of 22 (Pr) while Elon won as Isenbarger hit a three pointer with 2.3 seconds left.

The admins (several of them over the years) is most certainly responsible for nearly 50 years of not winning one title.
That is not a coincidence....
If you can't understand and appreciate that alums from the 90's, 80's and beyond are fed up with all of this futility than you are either completely in denial or part of the problem that has perpetuated for decades.
WOF: While there have been decades w/o titles, the comment about MBB THIS year rings true for me.
And, there are have been several ADs, coaches, presidents over the decades, with different attitudes towards sports. At least recently, there have been upgrades to facilities and coaching changes.
It's too soon to judge
Mangurian's success; and, those FT stats of Ivy opponents this year are so atypical, unexpected, I can't fault Smith, the players for the losses.
I'm with you on everything you say above, but the fact is until we produce a champion we all reserve the right to remain skeptical.
Until then, we have been fed BS for 4-5 decades and we tired of unfulfilled promises.
This basketball season has been a huge disappointment already. Penn is terrible and losing to them is inexcusable. Losing at HOME to Cornell is another inexcusable loss if you ask me.
Also, I am fully supportive of Coach M but again, there will be skepticism until we produce on the field. Rightly or wrongly, Coach M will be viewed as Diane's guy because of their history and the appearance that Coach M was basically the only serious candidate. If he wins we all win and if he loses he and Diane should both be shown the door.. We will all know more by the end of this coming year....

some easy arithmetic says, if those 2 teams shot them at their normal rates, or even a bit better, the Lions win both.
Please try to understand. You can look at two games all you want, I am looking at 40+ years.
