Super Get Sunday

Jordan Colbert

6-2 185 pound DB Jordan Colbert has just committed to Columbia.

Colbert is from Gonzaga College HS in Washington, D.C. and was named 1st Team WCAC at DB.

He's another taller than 6-foot corner the coaches have really sought after in Bagnoli era.

Colbert chose Columbia over offers from Yale, Penn, Dartmouth, Cornell, Fordham, Holy Cross, Air Force, Duquesne, and Moorehead State, and Butler.

He will be the second Gonzaga grad to come to Columbia Football, the first being Kenny Wood '03.

I just saw the barstool tweet which reports that we have a top 5 FCS recruiting class. Not sure how that is compiled.

Colbert played in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) not DCAC as reported.

I asked a similar question on VOY and someone there made the point that most of the big FCS schools get the bulk of their classes on letter of intent day, while the Ivies get the commitments earlier. So Princeton probably does not have a better class than North Dakota State or James Madison, but 247 knows all of Princeton's three-star recruits already. It doesn't know who JMU will announce. Since the rankings are mostly just counting up stars, as JMU's class gets announced, its star count will rise.

That said, it certainly appears Columbia has a terrific class.
