Patriot Connection

                                                Josh McDaniels

Our new offensive coordinator's brother is about to get the same job with the New England Patriots.

ESPN reports that Josh McDaniels will return to Foxboro and take over as OC after the playoffs.

I'm not sure how that helps Columbia and our new OC Ben McDaniels, but I get the feeling it will aid recruiting at least in the New England region!

Jake, the Columbia Men's Basketball Team closed out their pre-conference schedule this afternoon with a 65-60 comeback victory over Elon in North Carolina. As usual, we wore down our opponent with our speed, superb ballhandling and tight defense. Add in the great bench coaching of Smith, Hartmann et al. The Lions have now won eleven of their last twelve games. I'm looking forward to the start of the Ivy League 14 game tournament next weekend against Penn and Princeton.

My prediction is Sean completes over 60% of his passes next year with something over an 8 yard per catch average and leaves the CU faithful wondering why they ever wanted him to be a run first QB.

Speaking of the Patriot connection, is it true that Bill O'Brien, the new Penn State head coach, is the same Patriot assistant coach rejected for the Columbia job without an interview? It's hard to believe that two members of the Patriot staff are shopping their resumes around.
