Game Changer?

Cameron Molina

One of the incoming Columbia players I'm most interested to see is RB Cameron Molina from Tuscarora HS in Northern Virginia.

Everything about Molina is a bit different, especially the fact that he played for a HS that only opened its doors in 2010.

That late entry into the sport often spells great things for Ivy football players. In other words, when we're lucky enough to grab them early in their development in football we end up grabbing someone who otherwise would have landed at a BCS or close to it.

DL Josh Martin fits a similar bill; he only started playing football in his sophomore year of high school and now he is one of the best defensive players in the Ivies.

Columbia really needs a go-to running back like yesterday. It would be great if Molina could at least make a run for the job this summer.

It will be interesting to see what type of back will be used in the offense. Coach Mangurian stated that we didn't see much in the spring exhibition that we will see in the fall. If the offense has a tight end and H-back, will a smaller runner be used that is quick? With up to 18 wide receivers, will the offense be spread out more and a bigger back used for pass protection and running since there may not be as many inside blockers? How the personnel are used this fall offensively is a big question. I believe Coach Mangurian gave a good indication of defensive personnel but not the scheme, but was vague about the offense. We, like our opponents, all will find out this fall.

Yes, this is a TERRIBLE decision and I'm sure NBC Sports is already regretting its decision to sign the league up to a new deal. We are in the dark ages here for no good reason.
