Maryland Speedster

Denzel Hill,  a super fast WR from Waldorf Maryland, has committed to Columbia.

The 6-3, 185 lbs. Hill is also a track star for North Point HS. He looks like a very legitimate deep threat for the Lion passing game.

You can see his highlight reel here:

And Hill's nice personal statement about his goals is here.

Hill will be the first documented North Point grad to play for CU football.

That is four new WRs, plus at least four outstanding returning WRs. Who is going to be switched to DB?

.... I believe we are seeing the Wendell Davis effect this year (as well as last year) with the bevy of quality WRs ....

Denzel Hill has outstanding sprinter's speed so much so that it is almost inconceivable that he could be caught from behind on a football field. I am very impressed with our incoming group of receivers as they are all at least 6'3" tall and very fast and athletic. Given that we also have a very talented group of returning wide receivers, it should be great fun to watch what happens with our passing game next year.

The secret to attracting top WRs is having good a QB. The addition of Nottingham really helped. Now, can the line and FBs protect him? Looking forward to an exciting year.

Where is the Hunton commitment article/news? We have had some great football players from the State of Arkansas like the Hankins, so I'm excited by the news.

The great Stu Hankins '66C was from Arkansas. He went on to found a major law firm in Little Rock. Great guy as well.
