Texas Lineman

6-4, 280 pound lineman http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Markham-Paukune-149563 Markham Paukune has committed to Columbia.

Paukune has played both on the offensive and defensive lines, but it appears he's coming to Columbia to be an OL.

Paukune is now at All Saints Episcopal School in Fort Worth, Texas. All Saints is a smaller school, but one of the better ones in the smaller Texas HS league with several players getting offers from BCS and other D-I schools.

Paukune is the first documented All Saints player to come to Columbia according to my www.lionfeeders.blogspot.com recruiting history site.

So, here is the updated list of our confirmed incoming class of 2018 players so far:

1) Collin Breckenridge OL 6-2, 270 lbs. W.B. Ray HS, Corpus Christi, TX

2) Tyler Holmes WR/DB 6-0, 175 lbs. Norfolk Academy, Norfolk, VA

7) Nick Surges LB 6-3, 215 lbs. Benet Academy, Lisle, IL

On paper this is a good class so far if it holds true to them signing. Of course, recruiting is an iffy exercise and we won't know who holds up until they get out there. Still, this shows Pete feels a fire under his ass and that is exactly what he should feel. He should be sweating bullets that his entire career is in the crapper and his only chance of redemption is a winning season in 2014. If not, I am sure he is already cringing at the thought of crawling back on his knees to wherever he did not burn bridges.

Let's get some more speed and size on defense, a FULLBACK.
