BREAKING: WR GROSS BACK ON ROSTER

WR Isaiah Gross, who left the team last season after showing flashes of brilliance in 2012, is back on the official roster.

Gross made some spectacular catches as a frosh in the first two games of the '12 season, before an injury ended his season in week 3 vs. Princeton.

Last season he left training camp.

If Gross is ready to return to form, the Lion receiving corps will be a lot stronger.

In other breaking news, the pictures on the roster have been updated which is VERY good news for fans of OL Keith Ramljak.

Jake, if these are the current weights we are still really light on the OL. PS, it looks like the guys swapped off the same navy jacket and the same three ties for the new pictures.

I know, I am working on a post right now on the weights. Is this a sick joke? Our projected starting LT weighs 257 lbs???? Is this a football team or Jenny Craig?

The weights are terrible. Most of the freshman OLs are above 280, but the only upperclass OL who is above 280 is Bonadies, a sophomore. Older guys should be getting bigger and stronger, but instead our guys are shrinking. Is Pete forcing them to lose weight? Ramjlak and Ryan Thomas figure to start on the interior line and they are listed at 257 and 255. WTF!? Does Pete really view last year's results as inconclusive? Depressing.

There are several freshmen closer to 300.

Tom Callahan is currently listed at 6'5" 70 lbs.

Yeah, I think we can safely say Callahan, (who has been moved to the defense), is not 70 pounds. If he is, please call child services and/or 911.

As a comparison, Princeton has 11 OLs who are juniors or seniors, and 10 of them are listed above 280 lbs. We have six OLs who are juniors or seniors, and none of them are at or above 280. It really defies explanation. Can anyone point to a good Ivy team in the last decade that started 270 lb. tackles and 255 lb. guards?

Jake, why do u think Callahan is a typo? 6-5 and 70 pounds sounds like PM's ideal OL. I'm sure he'll be our OL starter on the blind side.

You guys are overdoing the weight thing. Most of Penn's O-line has always been in the 270-280 range. Bagnoli knows how to do it, maybe Coach M can do it. too. Let's see how we fare in September.

I agree, I don't think heavir is necessarily better.

Alawicius, haven't seen you here since I accidentally came across an old post of yours. To answer your question, my screen name has no connection to the chickaree squirrel that was featured in your screenplay about the Gold Rush....couldn't find your script in the Oscar listings, by the way.
It's not so unusual a nickname: Chick Hafey, Baseball Hall of Fame, Chick Hearn, legendary basketball broadcaster, golfer Chick Harbert, jazz great Chick Correa, bandleader Chick Webb, husband of Ella Fitzgerald, et al.

Yours is more interesting....a fanciful version of Aloysius?
