Josh Martin ‘13 had two solo tackles in KC’s 41-39 win over the Bengals last night at Arrowhead
Stadium. Martin is on much more solid ground to make the roster this season,
but the big question is whether he’ll get more significant playing time other
than special teams action.
Bruce Wood’s Big Green Alert blog notes that Dartmouth will start wrapping up its season
against Brown and not Princeton starting in 2018.
Of course, that means Columbia will have
to find someone other than Brown to wrap up the season. My sources tell me that
Cornell will be that team, making the “Empire State Bowl” the season finale.
Another highlight in the
future schedules for Columbia is the establishment of a regular series with
Georgetown beginning next year. This is great news for Hoya fans as it seems
like Patriot League teams start getting better when they start playing Columbia
and vice versa.
But that will be a stretch
for GU, since they remain the only Patriot League football team not using
athletic scholarships. In all fairness,
I don’t think the Lions could have beaten Georgetown last year, but next year
is probably a different story.
