The Columbia football program must be pinching itself this morning if it's seen this piece in a local Illinois paper about two standout players from the DeKalb area of the state who just happened to meet up at the Lions football camp in June.
LB Jake Peloquin is a senior at Sycamore High School and Derek Kyler is a senior QB at rival DeKalb HS.
Peloquin says Columbia is his top choice for now and Kyler says Columbia is in his "top couple of schools" right now.
Both would be the first graduates of their high schools to come to Columbia football.
