Team Captains Named

I can't hear any audio from this clip, (and that may be my fault), but we do know that Interim Head Coach Mark Fabish announced today that this season's four co-captains will be senior LB C.J. Brown, Senior QB Caden Bell, senior OL Luke Painton. and junior DL Patrick Passalacqua.

UPDATE: The audio CAN be heard on this Instagram clip.

The choices not only seem solid, but it's nice to see some fanfare attached to the naming of the captains after so many years of almost keeping the news under wraps.

Whether this captaincy announcement for Bell means he's won the starting job at QB is not clear, but it probably doesn't hurt.

Remember that Green beat out the incumbent captain as a rookie; so the coaches will play the guy who gives them the best chance to win. Once thing for sure—if Bell doesn’t start he will not quit the team.

And if Green doesn’t start he will not quit either.

The way I see it, unless Greene is CLEARLY the #1 guy, then I suspect Bell will be named starter. Greene's been cleared to play, but any additional time to heal and recover from his shoulder surgery isn't a bad thing in my mind. Shoulders take forever to fully heal (if they can) and get full range of motion back.

If it's a 1a/1b situation, let Greene continue to heal. He's a great leader whether on or off the field and is a huge asset to the team as a whole.

Georgetown has looked good in two games and Lafayette covered against Duke. So we will need to be ready to play from week one.

Unsure what happened with the audio. First time I saw the clip on my instagram feed, the audio was there. Now when I pull it up, the audio isn't attached to the video.

however, here is the audio to the original post:
