Week Two Picks

I had a decent start to the season, going 2-1 straight up and 2-1 against the spread in week one.

This is thankfully the last week where I won't have any Ivy games to pick. But with Wagner off this weekend, I only have two games to pick this week.

Fordham +4 1/2 over Villanova

The Rams lost big to the Wildcats at 'Nova last season, but that game turned out to be a fluke. This has all the makings of a terrific game, and I think Fordham will pull off the mild upset and win.

Marist +7 1/2 at Georgetown

It's really hard to guess how the Hoyas will perform Saturday as the team remains so emotionally devastated by the serious injury and paralysis suffered by LB Ty Williams. There has been no public update on Williams' condition for about four days now. We continue to pray for his recovery.

On the field, Marist comes in with what looks like a good defense but little offense. I think the Hoyas can win this game, which may be their best chance to win a game all year, but not by more than a field goal or so.

'Nova @ Fordham is a tough one to call. 'Nova still has their top QB and they played UConn tough last week. It could come down to a final possession.

Another game with FCS rankings implications is Eastern Wash @ Northern Iowa.

Monmouth is at FBS Central Michigan. The Hawks should gt their just desserts in that one.

Sorry to hear of the Gtown incident. A blah game.
