Week 5 Picks

Last week I was a pitiful 2-3 against the spread and 3-2 straight up. My record overall now is 11-10-1 against the spread and 16-6 straight up.

Let's go to this weeks games:

Yale +7 vs. Lafayette

The Leopards have some injuries and Yale is desperate for a win. We STILL don't know if Eli star RB Tyler Varga will be able to play, but it seems like Yale is improving despite that. I actually think the Elis will win this game.

Brown -6 at Princeton

I must be crazy, because I keep getting burned by picking against the Tigers. But this time, I just like the Bears too much.

Cornell pick 'em over Monmouth

It's a home game for the Big Red and I think they will bounce back.

Sacred Heart +17 at Dartmouth

I think the Big Green will win this game, but it will be closer than a lot of people expect.

Harvard -27 vs. Bucknell

After this game, I expect several Bison players to be lying on the turf whispering "the horror, the horror."

As this is a Columbia blog, I have to point out that the "the horror, the horror" comes from Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. Apocalypse Now was adapted from the book.

Let's hope it is Bags himself whispering the line tomorrow afternoon.

You think Bucknell-Harvard will be ugly? Don't watch Cincinnati-Fordham.
