SHHH!!!!!!!! (UPDATED)

Um... you didn't hear it from me... but I hear there's a football game this coming Saturday and Columbia is opening its season at home.

Apparently this is a big secret, so be careful about spreading it around.

I really admire the extent to which this department goes to publicize football, inform and excite the fans, and create a fun recreational atmosphere for students and alumi alike.

Come to think it, let's not even bother to replace Dianne Murphy with a new Athletic Director. I mean, who would notice the difference?

The other Ivy schools not only have season previews and player profiles on their sites, but many of the head coaches of the other schools regularly Tweet about their players and promote them for awards.

Our Head Coach Pete Mangurian must think our guys are in witness protection.

It's impressive that going 0-10 isn't quite enough for these people. They also want to outdo themselves in general apathy and poor public relations.

This department needs a thorough cleaning out.

*UPDATE*

By the way, I've just learned that this game against Fordham is Northern Manhattan Neighbor Appreciate Day!

Problem is, no one in the neighborhood is aware of it. (I learned about it from secret source).

I'd like to say this is all part of a genius plan not to lose ticket revenue by over-publicizing the free admission for Inwood residents game... but yeah, that is indeed laughable on its face.

For those of you ARE planning on coming to the game, Wednesday will be the day I will have my annual guide out on attending CU football games at Wien Stadium with lots of brand NEW eating and drinking options in the area to tell you about.

I understand that the CAEC is putting something in Spec. I hope it mentions the game.

Don't we have a sports PR person on somebody's staff?

I've been traveling lately and too busy to update. Here are some tidbits. New injuries on the defense. Offensive line shake up in the starting line-up and RB Shoerer is showing some real ability in the rushing game.

Danny,
How about same names?
When will we see the Depth Chart?

Danny,
D injuries? Any starters?
When will the D Chart be released? I agree with the comment about Shoerer based on HS film.
Who is backup QB?

2-deep should be out Wednesday or Thursday.
Sorry to hear about injuries but we have some depth at D. New players will get baptism by fire with Fordham's offense.

The line right now is -37. Fordham showed it can take no mercy on lesser teams this season regardless of Nebrich not all the way recovered from injury.

BTW, all fans who go to Baker Field will receive an official 2014 Columbia football poster and for the first 1,000, a Columbia drawstring bag.
