After a good start in week 1, I had a rough second week and
was 0-2 against the spread and 1-1 straight up.
That puts me at 3-2 straight up on the year and 2-2 vs. the
spread.
Again only two games to look at this weekend because Albany
has a bye week.
I will officially dub this “confusing mascot week” as the
Fordham Rams will be playing the Rhode Island Rams and the Wagner Seahawks will
be playing the Monmouth Hawks.
Got that?
Rhode Island +20 at
Fordham
A sudden gloom has settled over the Bronx… and it’s not just
because the Yankees will miss the postseason for the second year in a row. After
the Rams were mauled by Villanova last weekend, the team’s belief that it could
win an FCS title has taken a huge hit.
It all stems from the fact that the very mobile QB Michael
Nebrich clearly isn’t so mobile anymore because of an injury that was aggravated,
(and probably had not healed properly anyway), in week one.
But Fordham has had some time to adjust now and Nebrich is
still a great passer. Plus, Fordham has a wealth of riches at running back.
Could the Rams beat Rhode Island by 20 at home? Yes, but if
Head Coach Joe Moorhead is smart, he’ll take his foot off the pedal in this
game to preserve Nebrich and any other gimpy players for the rest of the
season.
On the other hand, Moorhead may want to really bash the snot
out of URI to re-energize a suddenly less confident team.
The rainy weather may keep this score lower than usual.
But I like Fordham to win, and URI to cover.
Wagner +14 at
Monmouth
If you had a dream of being able to legally bet on this game
at the Monmouth Racetrack, you’re out of luck. The track still does plan to
offer legal sports betting, but it’s now holding off until the end of October,
(clearly to avoid the heavy action it would have seen on the Oct. 11th
Columbia-Monmouth game… right?).
Both Wagner and Monmouth looked good in week one victories,
but the Seahawks fell hard to FBS team Florida International in week two while
Monmouth got the week off.
The Hawks should win this game at home, but by more like 10
points, not 14.
Monmouth to win, but take the points with Wagner to cover.

It will be interesting to see how Fordham bounces back. They really looked helpless against 'Nova so how do they move the needle from zero? Just go out and play well I suppose.
Big spread for Monmouth. i tend to agree with you. Wagner isn't bad and should hang in there.
Let's make it "interesting"
Central Connecticut State at Holy Cross
CCSU is offensively crappy so I want Holy Cross to win. Though they are a bit unpredictable. CCSU somehow kicks a field goal to win it.
Towson at Delaware State
Oof. Towson has to win this by several TDs. After a trouncing by West VA they need to bounce back.
Incarnate Word at North Dakota State
are you $#@*ing kidding? I'll give -40
Lehigh at New Hampshire
Great game but UNH should pull this out.
Colgate at Delaware
I register C-corps in Delaware. Go blue hens!
South Dakota at Montana
I have no idea. Montana plays tough at home but SD is pretty good. Or is that SD State?
Jake I am hoping your wrong about monmouth and the boys from staten island put a hit out on the monmouth hawks.
