Harvard Favored by 40 Points

It's interesting that even though the prognosticators know that Columbia's opponents have been benching starters or pulling them early, they still pick the Crimson to crush the Lions by at least 40 points on Saturday.

It's important to remember that the point spreads aren't a pure prediction, they are just a number the bookies create in hopes of encouraging an equal amount of betting on both sides.

So what they are saying is that to get someone, ANYONE, to bet on CU you need to give them at least 40 points to get their attention.

If memory serves, Tim Murphy was "scolded" by his AD for thrashing CU last year or maybe the year before when they pushed 60 points. The response by TM was he was playing his 3rd and 4th teamers by that point.

So it makes sense lots of Harvard's bench will get PT. It depends when in the game he deicides to do that. My bet is 2nd quarter or at the latest 3rdQ.

That won't stop the gashing since Harvard's bench is superior to CU in every area.

I wonder if they give the first team the weekend off and leave them in Cambridge. Likewise for the coaches since the trainers could out coach this lot.
