Jake, what's the scoop? This job announcement came out of the blue. What happened?

In fact, how does this play out with the previous ad postings?

Does anyone know how many asst's they're looking for? Shouldn't there be an official vacancy list someplace?

Reason being, whatever one says about PM, he had a lot of help being as bad as he was, so this has to be a good sign unless the good ones are those who are leaving.

If Cidzik, a man Mangurian praised to the skies all last year, has bolted or has been fired it's a BIG story.

I know people move on all the time in college sports, but Cidzik was only here for about 18 months.

This is a prime example of how PM is doing an awful job communicating with his fans. Nobody has a clue

Exactly. If something ugly happened, then I would expect some form of silence. But with this group, who knows? Maybe he just won the lottery for all we know. Just a key member of this regime who has for some reason disappeared. North Korea does a better job of informing its people of its internal staff changes.

Here's the article on Alex Holme that includes his coach's praise.

Jake, it is a real stretch to think Pete is withholding valuable info when a strength and conditioning coach leaves. I have never heard that announced for any program. In fact, assistant coaches leaving is not announced either. It gets reported in the media but what do you expect, a press conference? Coach Cid was valued but he probably just got another job. The guy is a commodity in his profession so someone poached him.

alswingman,
I think you nailed it. There's no conspiracy here, just market reality.

Point is there are ways to get the desired message out without holding a press conference. This staff is so insular, they need good PR and they have no clue how to manage that.

Multiple sources tell me Cidzik has taken a MUCH lower position at Stanford under Shannon Turley. I am working on more details, but while moving up to an FBS program, Cidzik has clearly taken a major demotion.

It might be a job with less title but he may have gotten a bump in pay and lifestyle. NYC isn't for everybody. A plethora of reasons why he could have chosen to leave.

Big Dawg said...

Absolutely. Point is, he went straight to Stanford, so he wasn't canned.
It's also a top-10 performer consistently, and very possibly offered more $. All in all, this is a career improvement for him in many ways.

I really don't think he was fired. I do think it's likely he bailed.

Stanford's football facilities underwent a massive upgrade recently. The weight room is top notch and considering the program is top 10, it is a good fit for him. I'm sure he is well compensated. Good move for Coach Cid.
