Texas TE

Zach Dansby

Still coming in fast and furious.

6-5 220 pound TE Zach Dansby from legendary Westlake HS in Austin, TX has committed to Columbia.

Westlake is the HS where current NFL QB's Drew Brees and Nick Foles played.

Looks like no one on the present squad has a sure fire starting spot in the fall. That is a good thing. So far the recruit list in general looks good.
3 or 4 more to come. Need Ks badly.

Pat I bet there are guys that have locked down positions for next season. For example, I can't see the center who will be a senior with 2 years starting experience losing his job. Not to mention at QB.

But I do see your point. How many kickers on the roster now?

Danny,
True, but I would not tell anyone on the team that they have a locked up job. I love the looks of the new QB. I think he will be very competitive.

Only one. Not sure if he saw any action as a freshman.

Besides at least one kicker we still could use a couple of big interior DLs, another QB (preferably a dual type although as we know PM doesn't favor that), at least one more WR (although Briscoe looks at least as good as anyone we have now), and a dominant RB (the three recruits look pretty good but I don't think any is the equal of Garrett, though I hope I'm wrong). All in all, plenty of very good athletes with lots of honors.

I'm hoping for a kicker too but, at 31 commits, we're running out of spots. I'm sure they tried to recruit some bigger DLs, but they're tough to find (at least for Ivy schools). I've got to believe that we can convert one or two guys from among our surfeit of OLs. I don't think you'll see any more WRs -- we have a bunch of young WRs on the roster now.

Al,
Take my word, Hill will be a top Ivy QB very soon. LB crew will also be near best in Ivy soon.
