Jake, how many more recruits do you expect us to bring in? I think we are close to last years number already.

We always bring in about 30 new frosh per year. That's always the case. Nothing to be proud of. It's like cheering the team for coming out of the locker room after halftime.

Jake, what kind of comment is that? Your problems with the brass are causing you to become too cynical. Time to return to the timeless Lion adage, "The agony and the ecstasy!" We support no matter what, right, Jake?

Another kid with a State Championship and FBS offer. Is this a good class now Jake........of course not.......lol!

Jake that's at least 5 kids with FBS offers that picked CU. give those coaches some love!

Jake and Bob, add Devin Williams as a commit out of St John's College HS in Washington DC. Has offers from Stanford, Army, and Harvard to play LB and Safety. Via Washington Post

Danny, can you provide a link to the Washington Post piece on Williams?

I don't care what Danny and Bob claim to be they are on the football staff's payroll!

You guys probably know this all too painfully but every year we can get fired up about recruits coming in and their various press clippings and list of other schools they considered. Every looks the same, it means nothing until they suit up and play.

You guys are either staff plants or naive newcomers.

WOF,
You asked to look up my Kilt. Why no comment about 0 and 50 in the next 5 years? I hope none of you "supporters" live in high rises.

WOF, I don't spend my time thinking about things I can't change or the past. I like to look to the future where "hope " is always a possibility. Jake challenged PM to bring in quality recruits with FBS offers and he has done that. He hasn't gotten kids to come to Columbia over Stanford, Harvard, Yale, FBS and other FCS programs. Give credit where credit is due. Jake challenged PM to bring in the Rey-Redmond kid from Ohio and he did. The past is the past and has no bearing on the future. True in football and mutual funds.

That should say "he has gotten kids to come to Columbia over Stanford..."

Seriously, folks, I see no reason on this thread to be trashing each other.

I am heartened by the recruiting announcements; more so recently, where it seems we are attracting some upper-end kids, but any recruit is a potential contributor. True, this is a minimal expectation for any coach, so no hossanahs yet for the staff.
The real test, as I have said before, is what is done with the talent. Which brings us back (or forward) to 2014. Next year is the rubber year and the true proof. May PM go 10-0, since that means CU also goes 10-0.
Columbia success transcends any individual.

Big Dawg, I agree.

It is very obvious by now Bob and Danny (and Earl) are probably the same person associated with people inside the program who feel threatened by what is posted here. They are here as a knee jerk defense trying to distract and disrupt dissemination of truths calling out the AD and coaching staff for what it is. She/they are the same anonymous posters that were stirring things up previously.

Jake, enough is enough. Just hit the delete button or maybe a more secure platform than blogger is due.

I remain, very truly yours, Richard Szathmary said...

All these accusations that this poster or that one is an administration "plant," isn't this partly why the new posting policy is in place? They're certainly annoying. Kind of remind me of what I read about "workers' committees" in tractor factories during the time of Stalin, and with perhaps the same aim of ideological purgation. Also a bit paranoid, I suggest, that someone sees Dianne Murphy's spies lurking behind every other post.

Lol, this stuff is amusing. Just because i dont join the PM and staff are losers supporters, i must be a plant. Yes, i am new to the mix, and havent been associated with CU and the losing for "years" like you BITTER dinosaurs. Seems to me you people just continue to rant about the past and wont be excited about the future. I DOUBT any kids from previous yrs has the credentials this 2014 group seem to have with state championships and FBS,FCS offers. Jake did a piece on Yale and their recruits and needing 4 guys with FBS offers to be excited. Well CU has more than 4 and some kids that turned down Harvard,Yale,Cornell and Brown to come to CU. But like the HATERS you all are, you will continue to cry like babies. This is PM make or break yr, lets see what happens. What good coach with any sense would CU hire if you fire coaches every 2-4 yrs, and not let them try to win with their own players?

Al, the great thing about Jake is that he encourages ALL voices to speak their opinions whether he agrees with them or not. This is not a blog of robots. Because I or others don't always agree with you doesn't make us any less worthy to share. In other words...this is Jakes' blog, not yours Al.

The new posting policy, at the very lease allows us to have conversations among each other. When everyone is anonymous we aren't sure who is saying what.

That being said, it would appear that "one or two" posters have multiple aliases, so there is no perfect system I suppose.
