Solomon Samuel Johnson Jr.
also known as “Solo” or “Stoney” of West Orange, NJ passed away on Tuesday Sept
3rd surrounded by loving family and friends at Hackensack University
Medical Center. Raised in East Orange, he also lived in Harlem and Brooklyn,
NY.
He was a graduate of Montclair Kimberly Academy and Columbia University,
NY, where he was an outstanding scholar athlete.
Devoted husband of Ayesha
Qayyum. Loving Father of Aaliyah (9) and Jabari (7) Kamalei. Caring son of Rev.
Ella Coriner and Solomon S. Sr. Johnson. Loving brother of Dr. Stephanie Aisha
Steplight Johnson. He also leaves to cherish his mother-in- law Sajida Qayyum,
brother-in-law Hamid and Aamer Qayyum and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and
friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations for the benefit of the children would be
appreciated.
Visitation: Friday Sep 6th from 6-7PM at Cotton Funeral
Service, 1025 Bergen Street, Newark, NJ. Funeral Service is to immediately
follow. Janazah Service is being held Saturday Sep 7th at 11:00AM at
Cotton Funeral Service, 130 Main Street, Orange, NJ. Interment: Gates of
Heaven- East Hanover, NJ.
