KC Star Tells Martin's Story

Here's a short, but great piece in the Kansas City Star about how Josh Martin '13 beat the odds to make the Chiefs roster.

I don't know which Columbia coach recruits the Missouri area, but this should help his cause immensely.

New Video

Here's the latest video coming out of Lions training camp.

It features coach Alvin Smith working with his charges on the defensive line.

The first two players you see in the video are guys who have moved over from the O-line, Eric Stock and JD Hurt.

The you see the big man, freshman DT William Carson, hit the tackling dummy. He's followed by Nick Melka, (good to see him looking good after his 2012 injury-laden season).

Then you see Smith talking in between two frosh, Kyriakos "Eric" Mourkakos and Charles Melka, (Nick's younger brother).

In the next shot, you seen another freshman, Anthony Bonadies, working with the D-linemen, so it would appear he has been moved over from the O-line as well.

The next shot shows Seyi Adebayo, Niko Padilla, Hurt, and Nick Melka lining up on the line together as they defend a play with Kelly Hilinski handing off to Alan Watson.

How, where did you learn of the KC Star article, Jake? VOY? a tweet?

I think you don't undestand the rules of attribution. If you link to a story someone else published, you've attributed it properly. BWOG did as much for my story on Chad Washington while Spec did not. I got wind of the KC Star story via google. The same is true for videos released by the team. I link to them after they announce their release on Facebook or Twitter. Again, I link to them. Get it? I hope so. If your like to make yourself non-anonymous I can explain it to you further. But you DO understand that published material by newspapers is public info, right?

All that was asked was where you learned of the piece? You were not accused of non-attribution.

The Oline being small is a myth. Visited my son yesterday and saw several of them. Big, strong and fit looking. Reminded me of the NE Patriots type of lineman. Looked very capable

I sign up for google alerts. Helps find most everything.

Dear "Anonymous" I hope you are correct about the O line. Here in NEW YORK, we say "...from your lips to God's ear!" I hope your "little" boy and his teammates kick some ass this season.
Go Lions!!
Who owns NY?

Kansas City, MO sits on the border of Johnson County, KS, an affluent suburb of over half-a-million; thus, I am sure whichever Columbia recruiter who tells the tale of Martin and the Chiefs in Kansas City, MO will have the same tale to tell in Kansas, especially in Johnson County.
