Moment #4: Garrett Gets it Going

Columbia came into the season finale at Brown as heavy underdogs, but much of the focus on the game was on RB Marcorus Garrett and his quest to become o
nly the second CU player in history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. #23 needed 99 yards to get there.

On the first Lion possession, Garrett had two carries for a total of five yards. But on their next possession, Garrett rumbled for a 16 yard gain to set Columbia up inside Bear territory.

The drive ended with a short Luke Eddy FG for a 3-0 Light Blue lead, but Garrett seemed to be getting off on the right foot in his hoped-for 1,000-yard journey.

Jake, my understanding is that there won't be a fan bus from Columbia University to the Fordham game. Can you give some insight as to the best way to get to the Fordham stadium? We are coming from out of town and staying on the upper west side not too far from the Columbia campus..
thanks. GO LIONS...

Will do. Will you have your car with you?

If not, I would take Metro North, which is running trains every half hour Saturdayto Fordham from Grand Central. The trip is just 17 minutes from there.

I would consider taking the 10:25, 10:55, or 11:25 trains to get the extra time you may want to explore the campus, etc.

Perfect...no we will not have a car so this information is very helpful! Thanks

Without a car you really have to take Metro North for speed, reliability and accuracy. The subway does not run very close to the Fordham campus. Go to Grand Central in the late morning and as we New Yorkers say: fuhgedabutit!

If you want to save some time and you're on the upper west side, you can hop a taxi to 125th Street and Park Avenue. There's an elevated station there for MetroNorth trains from Grand Central. Just make sure you get on one scheduled to stop at Fordham Road. Schedule's online at the MTA website.
