The Guys Up Front

Kendall Pace last year

The football team has released the final video of training camp and it features the offensive linemen working with Coach Ed Argast.

This video stood out from the rest because it actually showed a coach actively correcting the players. So for those of us desperate to see a sense of urgency in improving the offensive line, I think we got it.

The other thing I noticed is that freshman Kendall Pace looked very big and very strong compared to the other players, although Jimmy Yukevich seems bigger than he was last year.

Player weights have not been updated yet, but we’re keeping an eye out.

And yes, the intense training camp schedule is now over, but practices will continue of course.

Hopefully, some more news about the depth chart will trickle out soon.

Maybe the frosh are bigger than the returnees because they haven't dropped weight through the new conditioning program yet? Interesting to see whether Mangurian will require them to drop weight like he did with the others.

Mangurian's note on Pace is revealing. Thinks he can be a dominant player and has room to get bigger. Nothing about the necessity to lose weight.

Kendall is my son. He just turned 17 last month. He is the biggest lineman by weight but not the tallest at 6'5". He reported at the required weight and does not have to lose any weight. He's big but not fat. The line will be a strength this year.

That's grate to hear Mr Pace! The line is a major concern as we all know. Kudos to the athletic dept, the coaches and players for allowing us a peak into what practices are like (especially for we non-footballers).

I don't see a #63 on the roster. Who is this player?

#63 is Anthony Bonadies. He is no longer playing Dline. He is competing for a starting guard spot.

Thanks for the update, Mr. P. Great to have you son aboard.

Now that Bonadies is back on the O line, he is the heaviest in weight.
