Moment #15: Rocking Rebound
Chris Connors
After being trounced the previous week by Harvard, the Lions walked back onto the field at Wien Stadium to take on the Big Red and trying to prove they could bounce back from the historic 69-0 loss.
It didn't take long to prove they were back.
After taking the opening kickoff to the 23, Columbia got to work on its most efficient drive of the 2012 season.
It began with back-to-back nine yard runs by RB Marcorus Garrett. Two plays later, QB Sean Brackett found WR Connor Nelligan for a 22 yard gain.
Three plays after that, WR Chris Connors made an amazing catch - somehow scooping the ball before it hit the turf - to set the Lions up with a 1st and 10 at the Cornell 16.
Two plays after that, it was Connors again as he twisted to meet Brackett's pass in the corner of the end zone for a 7-0 lead.
The 10 play drive took just over five minutes and it included no penalties.
More importantly, CU had snapped out of the dizzy spell of week eight in a big way.

I am not disrespecting our QB from the last 4 years; but, I will be happier if we gain yardage on completions which do not require scooping and twisting. Circus catches are an exciting part of the sport, but I want to see the QB hit the receiver between the numbers on the jersey!
just sayin'
To joc/doc: SB was an outstanding athlete who lined up at QB. He was never a great passer. His best game, before he was injured, was the final game of his freshman year, against Brown, where he ran and passed with equal effectiveness. Had he not been misused beginning at the Fordham game his junior year you would have seen more performances like that. If as we suspect BN lines up for us I expect that you will be seeing some big time throws so long as the pass pro holds up.
The oldlion is right. SB was a great runner and not a great passer. For whatever reason, the coaches last year opted not to use him as a runner, even though we couldn't pass protect. It should be interesting this year to see Nottingham throw to a very strong receiving corps.
