Getting to Know You...

My pre-Ivy Football media day 7-day series preparing everyone, (especially the members of the media, with what they need to know about every Ivy team other than Columbia), continues today with a look at Penn:

2012 Record: 6-4 (6-1 Ivy, 1st place)

Coach: Al Bagnoli

Last Season in One Sentence: It wasn't always pretty, but Billy Ragone and the Quakers played their best when it counted and eked out close win after close win to grab an improbable league title.

Five Returning Penn Players You Need to Know: QB Billy Ragone, LB Daniel Davis, WR Connor Scott, DB Sebastian Jaskowski, RB Lyle Marsh,

Big Losses: DL Brandon Copeland, OL Joe Bonadies

Big Questions: Penn still seems good enough to beat everyone else in the Ivies, but can the Quakers beat Harvard on the road? Can Ragone and the offense continue to win by only waking up when it counts? Will Lyle Marsh finally be 100% for an entire season?

Jake’s Overall Take: With Bagnoli at the helm, Penn is always at least a contender. And with so many key returning seniors, the Quakers seem stronger overall. But talent-wise, this group still seems a notch below Harvard, and having to play the Crimson on the road this year puts a giant question mark on everything.
