Moment #37: Marcorus Does it All

Marcorus Garrett

Now trailing 14-10 in the 4th quarter of the week six Homecoming game against Dartmouth, the Lions endured two fruitless possessions on offense, (one that included a missed 42 yard FG attempt), before getting a third chance from the Big Green 45 with 4:50 left.

A short run by QB Sean Brackett and a nine yard pass play to TE Hamilton Garner got Columbia to the Dartmouth 33.

Then RB Marcorus Garrett completely took over.

Up to that point in the game, Garrett had been contained with just 39 yards on 17 carries. But he was finally able to break through.

On three straight running plays, Garrett ran for 4, 15, and 14 yards and a TD. It was a running performance by a single player clearly taking a team on his back.

After the TD, the PAT was no good leaving the Lions clinging to a 16-14 with 2:40 left in the game.

Jake,
I remember that missed PAT. I was shocked! Did we miss any others during last year?

Wasn't that extra point blocked as I recall?
