Moment #44: Two Yards Short of the Altar

After falling behind 24-20 in heartbreaking fashion late in the 4th quarter in the week five game against Penn, the Lions had just 50 seconds to gather their emotions and respond.

No one can say Columbia lost its will to fight.

Starting their final drive on their own 25, the Lions started to pass their way towards the Quaker goal.

It all came down to one final play, as Columbia had time for a final throw on a 2nd down from the Penn 19.

QB Sean Brackett ended up getting a good throw off that TE Hamilton Garner hauled in nicely… at the Quaker two.

Dan Wilk caught Garner right there to end the game, (as pictured above).

Fight or no fight, close or not… the Lions had fallen to Penn for the 16th straight time.
